Lee this is amazing! I had no idea you were destined for such fame and riches. I'll have to be nicer to you in your notes now and stop trolling as much :)
From what I know about the landscape out here (which is not all that much but perhaps slightly more than the layman) Lord and Miller are probably the two best people you could possibly have attached to a kid/teen project like this, apart from maybe Taylor Swift. Hope it gets the greenlight!
Thanks, man. Yeah, they’re some of the best filmmakers working today. And genuinely nice people too. I’m very glad that they’re still making this a priority.
Congratulations Lee. This is great to see it’s still got legs. It does seem like a project that should be a movie.
Do you think The Wild Robot having success helped? I get yours is a hybrid animation vs full but that was a great book adaptation. Seems like that would’ve given studios reason to keep actively developing yours. They always want more of “that” once they see it.
Thanks, Matt! Oh yeah, the success of The Wild Robot helps. The story is different enough that they won’t worry about it being too similar, but it shows that there’s an audience for family friendly robot movies.
Awesome, yes. Figured as much re: similar target demo but different story. I ordered the first book for my daughter. She’s 10 and my wife and I are doing everything we can to help books pull her away from KPop Demon Hunters. 🤦♂️
Thanks, Jennifer! And thanks for the interest in the book. I’ve heard from lots of adults who enjoyed it. Or at least pretended to, to be nice. It has a very unique style. It’s narrated by a robot. If you want to get a better sense of it, you can find samples on Amazon and audible.
It was indeed. People on the movie side give me occasional timelines—but these things move slooowly. So whatever they tell me is often many months in the future and subject to change in the interim.

Thank you! And yes, I expect only the most sycophantic replies from now on.
Just kidding!
I'm confident the wait will be worth it! Hoping to see your works on the big screen soon!
Thanks, Max! I appreciate that.

Great news; I'll keep crossing my fingers! (And thanks for the peek inside the process here...makes the publishing industry almost look speedy!)
Thanks, Kristin! Yeah, compared to the film biz, book publishing seems fast-moving.
Tell those mofos to get their heads out of their spidey asses and make this film!!!
I will never watch another spidey movie but will 1000% be at the opening night showing of yours!!!!
Thank you, Henny! I appreciate that. Nice to know there will at least be one ticket sold on opening night.
The fact that the project survived all the factors that you laid out says a lot. I really hope this happens for you, Lee!
Thanks so much, Chris!

Amazing! Thanks so much for ordering! I hope your daughter enjoys it.
Thanks for the update. I hope to see it someday, while my kid is still a kid!
I hope so too!!!
I so hope it happens for you, Lee! And am I too old to read this book? Because I am very intrigued!

Wow this all must have been a psychological roller coaster! Do they ever give you a timeline for anything or is it just like meh?
It was indeed. People on the movie side give me occasional timelines—but these things move slooowly. So whatever they tell me is often many months in the future and subject to change in the interim.
I appreciate the update! You sure I can't send you my acting reel?
